Intrinsic value

The amount an option is in-the-money right now.

An option's intrinsic value is max(spot − strike, 0) for calls and max(strike − spot, 0) for puts. It's the portion of the option's price that would be realised by exercising immediately. OTM options have zero intrinsic value.
